Food Info is an independent nutrition database built and run by Peter Carter and Teodora Carter, a husband-and-wife team based in Norwich, England. It exists to make accurate food and nutrition data free, fast, and clear for everyone.
Who’s behind it
Peter Carter founded Food Info and builds the platform from Norwich. After years of finding nutrition data scattered across government databases, locked behind sign-ups, or quietly wrong, he built one place that merges the official datasets of six countries, the USA (USDA FoodData Central), the UK (CoFID), France (Ciqual), Denmark and Australia (AUSNUT), plus Open Food Facts, into a single, searchable, side-by-side view. Teodora Carter leads growth and content, getting that data in front of the people who need it.

Food Info is operated by DCPNET LTD, a company registered in England & Wales (No. 15734157) at 30 Vane Close, Norwich, NR7 0US, United Kingdom. It’s a Norwich-based business, built and maintained in-house. DCPNET LTD also operates the technology behind Eden Relics.

Full nutrient panels for millions of foods, per serving and per 100 g, against UK Reference Intakes or US Daily Values; side-by-side comparison; the top food sources of any nutrient; and original data studies drawn from the database. The core data is, and will stay, free.
